Provide weekly updates (including all necessary reporting for grant purposes) to the Executive Director about all areas of work.

Integrating posts drafted by volunteers in addition to producing daily content themselves by researching and drafting posts about articles from numerous news and other sources

Pulling together a weekly “Solar Jobs Roundup” from a spreadsheet that volunteers are adding to for dissemination via social media each Wednesday

Refining and pushing out any content already prepared

Interviewing new industry members who would like to be profiled through the Membership Monday feature

Drafting profile content for future use

Integrating any new content that Solar Alberta alumni and members share during September and November.
Responsibilities
-
Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field is preferred; a combination of education and equivalencies will be considered.

Knowledge of renewable energy and energy efficiency, as well as barriers and opportunities related to the advancement of these industries and technologies, is an asset.

High ethical standards: understand ethical obligations and good business practices, and exhibit behaviour that aligns with the values of the organization.

Adaptability: demonstrate a willingness to be flexible in a changing work environment while maintaining effectiveness and efficiency, taking direction as necessary.

Good judgement: assess situations to determine the importance, urgency and risks, and make timely and clear decisions.

Proficiency in both written and verbal English communication is essential; written and verbal fluency in additional languages is an asset.

Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders is essential.

Strong ability to manage time and tasks effectively is essential.

Proficient with MS Office, Google Suite, and social media platforms.

Previous experience with program and event planning and organizing.

Previous experience developing and disseminating communications, including through social media platforms.

Previous experience engaging with, serving and supporting members of a not-for-profit society or association is an asset.

We offer

Position will require 40 hours/week.
-
Compensation will be $1,600 every 2 weeks.

One paid 30 minute break may be taken each day.

Hours of work and break will be flexible and determined largely by the Assistant, however, they will need to work at least 3 hours between 9 am and 5 pm daily, Monday to Friday, to ensure they are available for email, phone and meeting interaction. The Assistant will also need to be available for occasional weekend and evening meetings or events.

Position will be primarily remote, and the Assistant will be provided with a Solar Alberta computer and phone service, if needed, to facilitate remote work.

The vacation allowance will be two weeks/year on an accrual basis.
