Role Summary
Within Flowserve Itzehoe, we are looking for an Applied Pump Engineer. Do you bring relevant experience in the field of mechanical engineering with preferably specific knowledge in the field of Rotating Equipment? Then please respond quickly to this vacancy! Your main tasks in this role will be order related handling of side channel pumps and product engineering tasks for side channel pumps.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities & Requirements: You'll be involved in the following tasks:
Order Engineering (main focus)
- Support proposal activities related to MTO/ETO requests from Commercial Operations team including pre-engineering work to determine technical scope, engineering labor, risk analysis and/or support Commercial Operations team in equipment selection outside of IQ/eCPQ
- Perform detailed layout and mechanical design including conducting routine engineering analysis and design calculations
- Provide primary support to other internal functions related to technical topics of side channel orders
- Coordinate supporting technical data and design drafting resources in GTECs during creation of 2D/3D drawings and modelling as well as creation of material master and bill of material, effectively check results
- Prepare job specific user and service instructions or supervise respective creation in team or GTECs, specifically for ETO orders
Product Engineering responsibilities (up to 50%)
- Expert level engineering support (e.g. operating outside of published parameter, Design to order, design related field issue root cause analysis, regulatory compliance, Design governance)
- Create specifications, work instructions, quality plans, user and service instructions and other documentation needed for generic production of S0-S2 sidechannel products
- Ensure product safety and regulatory compliance in collaboration with Product Engineering manager
- Lead Product Engineering tasks and projects according to product road map and site specific projects while efficiently managing GTEC resources that support these actions
- Drive product standardization and rationalization guided by operational models and M&T priorities.
What Do You Need For This Job
- Engineering degree or equivalent and minimum 3 years of industrial experience within rotating equipment industry
- Understanding of engineering documentation, drafting, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
- Effective oral and written communications (English)
- Basic knowledge of information technology tools including Windows, Microsoft Office products, 2D/3D CAD (NX) and Solidworks, FEM, SAP, ECTR
- Strong knowledge of FMEA tool and implementation
