Description
This new role within Roots Research has a strategic and an operational dimension.
The strategic dimension includes establishing a new quantitative research services offering within the agency that both complements existing qualitative research services and delivers an additional, stand-alone growth revenue stream. The operational dimension involves being fully involved in hands-on direction of quantitative services delivery including working with clients, overseeing major projects and managing existing and new personnel within the agency required to deliver the new services.
- Job Title: Head of Quantitative Research
- Responsible to: Company Directors
- Annual Leave: 30+ days per annum plus bank holidays (pro-rata for part-time)
- Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week (with the requirement to work such additional hours as necessary to fully perform the role in accordance with the needs of the business.)

Personal Specification
- Knowledge and experience of developing and implementing quantitative research projects
- Experience working in a research agency environment or leading a research team within a larger organisation
- Experience of working at a senior level with client organisations
- Experience of managing a major quantitative research project and in coordinating with related qualitative research projects
- Expert knowledge and experience of statistical data collection and analysis software systems
- Knowledge and experience of quantitative research technology platforms
- Experience of translating research findings into client-facing presentations and documentation

Responsibilities
Strategic – development and execution of a business plan for quantitative research services:
- Identify, specify and start up profitable new services within the agency framework - including customer demand, project pricing and delivery/cost modelling
- Develop a customer value proposition (for the quantitative services offering) that contributes to the overall Roots Research brand
- Identify new customer segments and develop client persona to support business growth beyond existing (qualitative research) customer base
- Identify processes and people required to deliver the services and create a plan for developing these through internal reskilling or through recruitment
- Identify and specify statistical data collection and analysis systems and other necessary systems - both internal and external/hosted – required for successful delivery of the services
- Identify and build relationships with 3rd party quantitative research services and technology providers as required
- Oversee strategic development and enhancement of the services including, from time to time, introducing new services, recruiting additional personnel and/or forming new strategic alliances (in agreement with the company directors)
Operational – management of client acquisition and project delivery
- Develop client and sales targets for quantitative research services and ensure these are adopted and supported across the agency
- Oversee development of campaigns for (quantitative research) client acquisition
- Ensure quantitative research services are included/represented in all relevant new business campaigns
- Support internal teams with training and development around the client benefits and service offerings of quantitative research
- Lead major quantitative research new business activity for major new clients, including client discovery meetings, pitch and proposal development/delivery
- Oversee project management team in delivery of major projects
- Set and monitor project delivery quality
- Oversee project washup/wrap meetings and conduct agency team review and reflection of delivery successes and areas for improvement
